New Solis Series pushes sensitivity, noise control, and stability for microscopy, astronomy, and quantum research.
Shenzhen, China — 17 November, 2025 — SinceVision today announced the launch of its new Solis Series back-illuminated cooled sCMOS cameras, engineered for demanding scientific applications requiring high sensitivity, low noise, and stable long-exposure performance. The new series combines advanced BSI sensor architecture, multi-stage deep cooling, and a proprietary vacuum-sealed structure to deliver reliable imaging in extremely low-light environments.
Scientific research in fields such as biological microscopy, astronomical observation, and quantum optics increasingly requires cameras capable of detecting faint signals with exceptional clarity. The Solis Series is designed to meet these needs through a combination of high photon efficiency, ultra-low readout noise, and deep cooling technology that minimizes dark current during long exposures.
Two Flagship Models of the Solis Series
1. Solis B0465: High-Resolution, High-Efficiency Microscopy Imaging
The Solis B0465 integrates a back-illuminated sCMOS sensor and custom multi-band coated high-transmission glass, significantly improving photon utilization efficiency. With a quantum efficiency peak of 95% @ 560nm, wide spectral response (190–1100nm), and 2048×2048 resolution with 6.5μm pixels, it provides high-resolution images suitable for a wide range of microscopy applications.
Key performance characteristics include:
1. Up to 100 fps full-frame output
2. USB 3.1 and 10GigE transmission options
3. 55°C cooling differential with multi-stage TEC
4. Vacuum-sealed sensor chamber to suppress dark current
These features allow researchers to capture high-quality images with shorter exposure times, reducing phototoxicity and preserving delicate samples. The B0465 is well suited for applications such as live-cell imaging, immunofluorescence, super-resolution microscopy, and light-sheet imaging.
2. Solis B518: Ultra-Sensitive Camera for Single-Photon-Level Detection
The Solis B518 is designed for applications requiring exceptional light sensitivity, including quantum physics experiments and super-resolution life-science research. Its custom back-illuminated sensor features 18μm ultra-large pixels, enabling approximately 8× higher sensitivity than standard 6.5μm sensors.
Core performance attributes include:
a. Industry-leading 260 ke- full-well capacity
b. Ultra-low 0.45 e⁻ readout noise
c. Up to 60°C cooling differential with TEC + vacuum sealing
d. Stable imaging for long-exposure scientific observations
With true single-photon-level detection performance and no multiplicative noise associated with EMCCD technology, the B518 provides high-fidelity imaging for experiments requiring precise measurement of extremely weak light signals.
Core Technology Advantages of the Solis Series
1. Back-Illuminated Architecture for High Sensitivity
The BSI sensor design optimizes photoelectric conversion efficiency and maximizes the capture of weak light signals across ultraviolet, visible, and near-infrared wavelengths.
2. Full Vacuum-Sealed Sensor Chamber
SinceVision’s proprietary welded vacuum packaging ensures long-term stability while achieving a leak rate below 10⁻⁹ Pa·m³/s, outperforming traditional O-ring sealing systems.
3. Multi-Dimensional Noise Control
The Solis Series combines:
a. Deep cooling to suppress dark current
b. Sub-electron-level readout circuitry
c. Signal interference management across the acquisition chain
This ensures low noise even during long exposures and under near-darkness imaging conditions.
4. Rigorous Quality and Reliability Testing
All Solis Series cameras undergo strict component selection, environmental stress testing, and long-duration reliability verification to ensure stable operation for scientific users.
Expanding Applications Across Scientific Research
The Solis Series supports a wide range of fields including:
1. Super-resolution and fluorescence microscopy
2. Live-cell imaging
3. Quantum optics and single-photon detection
4. Astronomical observation
5. Multi-band spectral imaging
6. Custom scientific instrument integration
SinceVision also provides deep customization services, offering sensor-level, mechanical, and software modifications for research institutes, universities, observatories, and OEM system partners.
"The Solis Series represents a major step forward in our scientific imaging portfolio," said Product Manager, Arthur Wang at SinceVision. "By integrating advanced BSI sensors with deep cooling and vacuum sealing, we are providing researchers with a stable, high-performance platform for the most challenging low-light experiments. Our goal is to give scientists the most reliable tools possible as they push the boundaries of discovery."
The Solis Series sCMOS cameras are now open for consultation and pre-order. Demonstration images and evaluation results will be released in upcoming updates.
